performance in just his second appearance…tied a Steelers' record with six field
goals, including the eventual game-winning 50-yarder…tied for second-highest
field goal total in NFL history…scored 19 of the team's 25 points...12/8 vs. Houston:Connected on 2-of-3 field
goal attempts…had a string of 11 straight end when he missed a 43-yarder in the
fourth quarter...12/15 vs.
Carolina:Was

the most consistent kickers in the country over his two college seasons…entered
the 2000 season as a walk-on, but earned a scholarship with his

in his career…set a UNC record with 66-consecutive extra points…2001:Was an honorable mention All-Atlantic
Coast Conference pick…established a career best as a senior with a 49-yard field
goal against East Carolina with 2:48 remaining to help seal UNC's 24-21
win…connected on 12-of-16 field goal attempts…was also first-team Academic
All-ACC…2000:Was a second-team All-ACC player as a
junior…made 16-of-20 field goal attempts and 30-of-30 extra point attempts and
was one of 20 semifinalists for the Lou Groza Award, given annually to the

Personal:
Earned all-conference and all-county honors at East Mecklenburg High School in
Charlotte…kicked a 54-yard field goal, the longest in school history and the
second longest in state history…played four years of soccer and set school
records for assists in a game, season and career…earned all-conference honors
and led his team to the state finals…was a member of the National Honor Society
and Spanish National Honor Society…his father, Morris, played basketball for
Wichita State and his mother, Pam, was a cheerleader for Wichita State…his
sister, Kristen, played soccer at UNC-Charlotte and one year professionally for
